Here is a tip for Yorkshire on any number.

The places that go together (in the same lead) add up to the number of bells you are ringing on. Note that 1-2 places are the Yorkshire frontwork (e.g. in 6ths place bell).

Major

  • 1-2 places goes with 5-6 places (2 + 6 = 8) - 6ths place bell
  • 3-4 places goes with 3-4 places (4 + 4 = 8) - 7ths place bell
  • 3-4 places goes with 3-4 places (4 + 4 = 8) - 4ths place bell
  • 5-6 places goes with 1-2 places (6 + 2 = 8) - 8ths place bell

Royal

  • 1-2 places goes with 7-8 places (2 + 8 = 10) - 6ths place bell
  • 3-4 places goes with 5-6 places (4 + 6 = 10) - 10ths place bell
  • 5-6 places goes with 3-4 places (6 + 4 = 10) - 7ths place bell
  • 3-4 places goes with 5-6 places (4 + 6 = 10) - 4ths place bell
  • 5-6 places goes with 3-4 places (6 + 4 = 10) - 8ths place bell
  • 7-8 places goes with 1-2 places (8 + 2 = 10) - 9ths place bell

Maximus
