A Peal is a ringing performance which contains a set number of changes (rows). The Peal is started and ends in rounds with the number of rows in a Peal being defined as:

* 5040 changes made up of true extents on 6 bells or less
* 5040 changes made up of one true extent on 7 bells (ie. no rows repeated between start and end)
* over 5000 changes on 8 or more bells, with no repeat of rows between start and end
